Rehearsals will be on Mondays 7-10pm and Thursdays 8-10pm at Rackheath Village Hall. There will be a tech/dress rehearsal scheduled on a Sunday in February, as well as occasional set build and social media/content commitments. Additional rehearsals will occur in and around show week. Please make sure you have checked the draft schedule, which is available HERE.
You may not be required for all rehearsals, but as this is a large company musical, you will be expected to be at the majority of rehearsals. We are able to accommodate absences that we know about in advance and can plan around. Please be honest about any prior commitments within the application form to enable this. Large/prolonged absences may affect the casting for lead roles.
24th August 7.30pm at Rackheath Pavilion (Please note, this is next door to Rackheath Village Hall)
The information evening is not mandatory, but it is an opportunity to meet the creative team and hear about plans for the show. It is also your opportunity to ask any questions relating to the audition process, as well as sing through an ensemble piece as a group.
Auditions will be held at Rackheath Village Hall on Sunday 6th September 2026
Depending on the role auditioning for, auditions will consist of a solo singing audition and script workshopping in front of the group. All audition materials can be found by character in the ’character breakdown & audition materials’ pack. All audition materials will be accessible from 24th August. We are not expecting auditionees to have learnt all lyrics/script pieces, but this would be preferable, so we can get a sense of your full performance abilities.
All those auditioning (regardless of role) will workshop a piece of choreography and will take part in a short improvised acting workshop. Please wear suitable comfortable clothing and footwear for this. Those who wish to be considered as a featured dancer will also workshop a second piece. Full information can be found in the character breakdown & audition materials pack linked above.
We appreciate that not everyone will be able to attend our in-person audition. Video auditions will be accepted by 5pm on Saturday 5th September by emailing: katiestory2015@gmail.com. Please let us know in advance, via the application form, if you require a video audition.
The minimum age for cast members is 16. There is no upper age limit, and we are looking for cast to present within the age range shown for the character. This information can be found in the character breakdown & audition materials pack. Character ages can be changed for certain roles, so please do not be put off auditioning for certain roles or speak to a member of the creative team beforehand.
The costs for cast are:
Membership fee for the group is £25 (annual). This grants access to all Rackheath Players shows within the year.
The show fee for cast members is £15.
All costumes are provided and cast are not expected to purchase or contribute to costumes unless they wish to. However, you may be asked to provide / use clothing you already own as well as provide your own under-garments.
We may ask for a damage deposit for scripts, which will be refunded when the script is returned undamaged - this will be confirmed upon casting.
Agreement to photographic and video consent for internal use and external marketing is a pre-requisite for casting.
We look forward to receiving your audition application and seeing your audition. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the creative team: mail@rackheathplayers.co.uk.
